What a great site! Glad I discovered it, there’s a lot of useful info here.
I’ve been following this blog almost since the beginning, and I’ve learned a lot. More importantly, by following the Experiment and imitating it (best I could) — I’ve lost a lot, too! Pounds and inches. Best of all, I haven’t gained any of it back, which has never happened before.
I think you’ve created the perfect diet (Protocol and Maintenance) and should market it somehow. You will help a lot more people like me, and you’ll get paid for all your hard work.

I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve read a blog “cover to cover.” 🙂 It was like reading a great mystery book but it was about the human body and how to make it better. Thank you for all your hard work in doing the research, and for taking all the time (I know it must have been) to write it all out for everyone to read and learn.

Someone told me that this blog was about leptin resistance, but I don’t see that anywhere. Could you please steer me in the right direction?
This blog is about the science of obesity and nutrition, among a lot of other things. That includes information about the Triple Whammies: Insulin, Leptin and Thyroid Hormone Resistances. Some folks have all three, some have one or two — but anyone who is over-fat and especially anyone who eats a truly healthy diet (moderate protein, high fat and reasonable non-sugar carbohydrate) yet who cannot lose that fat or who lost some then stopped losing — has INSULIN RESISTANCE and maybe has the other two as well.
I see by your blog that you are eating a “leptin” diet. As you will read on this blog in several places, including comments, there is no such thing as a leptin diet. That’s because leptin resistance involves the breakdown of leptin signaling, where the leptin can no longer cross the blood-brain barrier to reach the hypothalamus, which then has no reliable information to send down to the liver, which controls most metabolic activity. No food in the world can fix that, though this blog does discuss what can fix it, for those who actually have it.
Do you have LR? Looking at your stats, I suspect not, but it’s easy to know for sure. Go to the Metabolic Blood Tests page on this blog and see what test/s you can take that will diagnose ALL THREE of the “Whammies.” Nearly 99% of everyone who believes they are LR, are in fact actually Insulin Resistant, and their ‘flavor’ of that IR is PCOS. For which there is also a fix discussed on this blog.
If you start with the “Welcome To My World” thread and then go on to read the HCG Analysis threads (which hold a lot of information just for you, despite the thread’s name) and then the other threads (especially the Experiment threads), I believe you’ll find all the information you need to begin healing your broken metabolism once and for all.

I did a homeopathic HCG round between August and November, not completely following the rules as I started to add fat when I was in the middle of the round and I lost 24 kg (almost 53 pounds). I stopped the round mostly because of your blog, but than I got frustrated with the difficulties of what to eat afterwords (more or less LowCarbHighFat) to keep the weight loss. But I still tend to overeat a lot, even with eating plenty of animal (and coconut) fat.
So I did another round of HCG just to lose the last of my excess weight, about 10 to 15 kg (22 to 33 pounds), and then I thought I would have more freedom to test other options out. Well, my thoughts were wrong as I really starved. I was hungry all the time and even though I added fat and went up to almost 1000 calories and imitated some of the numbers of some of your participants I still was hungry. I only did it two days as it does not feel right, and today I don’t take HCG — I just try to imitate some of your protocol.
But I’d love to have the “numbers” specifically designed for me, so here is my question: What tests do I need, and especially: is there a way to get your advice and help without being an official participant (English isn’t my mother tongue and it seems quite time consuming to write every day on an American blog)?

A sort of hands across the sea. 🙂 I lived in Holland for several years, had many German friends, and used to take the train there to visit them often. It’s a beautiful country and I really loved the food!
I’m so glad you found the blog, and especially glad that you stopped taking HCG. If you’ve read all the blog, you know that HCG does nothing whatsoever for weight loss, but instead does true internal damage to the women who take it, making their insulin resistance and hypothyroidism worse. But help is on the way! In this day of high tech, I’m sure we can find a way to talk and get you on the path back to true health. I was wondering if this Protocol would also be suitable for a guy? My sister Kym currently participates and she has really got me interested in it, while keeping me from going the HCG route.
The Protocol would not only be suitable for a guy, it will work even better for men because
you don’t have the female hormones that cause insulin resistance problems like PCOS.
